Beverly Beach Oregon in Space -- Jason Westby

Beverly Beach Oregon in Space, Jason Westby

Jason is on Deviant Art. Lots of great spacey images.

I like these because I live in Oregon and have been to Beverly Beach many times -- a very nice view!

time is Time is

image: public domain

disbelief

snorts out its fear

its arrogance a cold cloak

I know what I know,

I saw what I saw . . .

light emits

whispers rustle

blue trees bend,

remaining silent

voices float downstream

heavy moons, full,

hang above

time is Time is

missing, not lost

withheld

in a floating orb

I know what I know,

I saw what I saw. . .

A Landscape All Her Own, James Rich, acrylic on canvas

like lotus leaves

where is the dreamtime, i mean

what space

where is the marker

to let us know if we know

recognize

were, are, or will be

where are the parts

we don't remember

the silver cord, now snapped back

releases these dreamscapes

floating

like lotus leaves

on green water

Edward Friar: Witchcraft

I like this poem by my friend Edward, who graciously allowed me to post it here at Alien Art Genre. I like the rhythm of this poem, as well as the imagery and language. Well done Edward! I hope he has more, would love to share them here.

Witchcraft by Edward Friar

Witchcraft.
The word conjures visions of cauldrons and brooms,
Demons and dooms,
Crotchety old women in cluttery rooms.
Black hats.
Black cats.
Black cloaks, black Sabbats and creepy black bats.
Spiders and cobwebs.
Covens and candles.
Dastardly deeds and deals with the Debbil.
Fate and familiars,
Flying on besoms,
Athames, wands, and secretive lessons.
Magic and spells,
Tinkling of bells,
The casting of circles in fae haunted dells.
Dark as the night,
Witches take flight,
Reveling in power and magical might.

Adding Monsters to Thrift Store Paintings at TwistedSifter

A Fortean and creative idea; taking old paintings one finds at Goodwills and the like and painting in monsters. Something I will definitely play with! Adding Monsters to Thrift Store Paintings from TwistedSifter

Trickster's Realm: Urban Anomalous Art

My current column at Tim Binnall's site:Urban Anomalous Art

Two stories about mermaids -- more accurately, humans who have chosen mimicking mermaid-ism as a "life style" choice --. caught my eye. One story concerns Eric Ducharme of Florida. Ducharme made the UK news. Mr. Ducharme :

"...eats, sleeps and breathes mermaids while physically looking and acting like one as often as time allows.

'It's a lifestyle. It's a path in life that I have chosen,' says the 22-year-old from Crystal River who's one of the latest characters to appear on TLC's My Crazy Obsession."
